Capitulo 8 El Encuentro Es noche cerrada en Uzum, Talcom consigue por un buen trato un viejo carromato que carga con sacos de grano y viejos barriles, entre los que se ocultan Marian y sus dos esclavas. Se dirigen hacia un punto de la costa de difícil acceso, alejado del puerto, el último tramo deberán hacerlo andando. Talcom se detiene antes de cruzar un destartalado puente, su camino acaba aquí, en silencio les hace un gesto a las mujeres para que sigan avanzando, observa un instante antes de desaparecer, al otro lado en la penumbra Kalius el mercader y su embarcación les están esperando. Por fin, tras unos meses preocupados por la tardanza de la visita de Kalius con las provisiones, divisan su embarcación llegando a las costas de la isla del Sleen Rojo. El recibimiento se convierte prácticamente en una fiesta, hasta que Sasha alcanza a adivinar la silueta de su madre, en sus ojos la emoción de poder abrazarla de nuevo, en los de Marian lágrimas, es ella junto a su padre Nu-Wanda, con el que nunca ha dejado de mantener contacto, quien planeo cambiar el destino de Sasha, un enlace que su hija no deseaba, una vida que no la hubiera hecho feliz.
